Robot Vacuum Eufy G20 Honest Review From a Toddler Mom

The time was coming. My baby was turning into a toddler. She was taking steps and so soon she’d be walking all around the house no longer wanting to stay contained in her playpen. The thoughts raced through my mind of the constant stress I’d have to keep the floors clean for those wondering feet AND fingers which brought anything and everything straight to her mouth. I knew my quick vacuum job on the weekends wouldn’t be enough, especially with two kitties running around. It was time. Time to pull the trigger on a robot vacuum to help!

I didn’t want to spend hundreds of dollars but I also had boxes that needed to be checked before tapping “buy now.” I did lots of research. I read lots of comparisons of different models and brands. I knew early on that I wanted to go with a Eufy due to the great price point and good reviews. But, which model to go with?? I came across one that had tens of thousands of good reviews that I almost went with but I realized it was one of the oldest models with less suction power. So I compared the next couple of models and ended up deciding on the G20 model.

A few things really sold me on this one. The price was doable. It had better reviews than the next model up. Some of the things I was reading on this one checked off almost all my boxes. I decided this was the perfect one and pressed purchase! I could not wait for the luxury of hands-free cleaning to arrive on my doorstep!

As soon as it arrived I opened up the box and got it set and ready to go. It connects to wifi and an app that’s free to download on your smartphone. Now I could see first-hand how it checks off almost all my boxes and I could feel the stress of keeping the floors clean melting away.

My checked boxes:

• I like that this model connects to your smartphone so you can control it from wherever you are around the house. It will also notify your phone if an error occurs.
• In comparison reviews to other more expensive brands, this one gently bumps into objects instead of violently running into them. (One review said their iRobot ran so hard into their floor mirror that it came crashing to the floor and broke into pieces).
• It’s QUIET! This was a HUGE one for me since I might have it running while El is sleeping. It’s no louder than the microwave, may even be quieter than that.
• It transitions from hardwood to carpet/rugs seamlessly.
• I can schedule cleanings with it for the week and never have to lift a finger. It will automatically begin cleaning on those days/times.
• It cleans in an efficient pattern in each room instead of wandering aimlessly around.
• It automatically heads back to its “home” charging base when it’s done cleaning or needs to recharge.
• I don’t have to vacuum manually but maybe once or twice a month. And even then, an in-depth vacuum job isn’t needed.
• An added convenience of pairing it to your Alexa or Google device.
• (It also has a drop sensor but since we don’t have stairs this wasn’t a box I needed to check).

My unchecked boxes:

• This model does not empty itself at its home base so I have to manually empty the canister. -While this is a greater luxury, it doesn’t bother me to have to empty the vacuum myself. I think I may prefer it that way instead of buying bags for the home base and changing that out anyway.
• It doesn’t map out the house.
• It doesn’t have a sensor to avoid running over pets accidents on the floor.
• When “heading home” to the charging base it can get lost and take a long time to get back home. It can be hard not to intervene but it does always eventually find its way back.

Now that I’ve been using the Eufy G20 Model RoboVac for a month I can say I’m beyond pleased with this purchase! With all the boxes it checks off while in my price range, I rate it a 10/10!! You know when you have a gut feeling that you’ve made the right choice? I’ve felt that since hitting “Buy Now.” Everyone in our household including our toddler and our kitties is enthused by Grace and loves watching her clean. I named her Grace.

As for the boxes it didn’t check off, I knew were par for the course for the lower price point, and they weren’t deal breakers for me. When one of life’s biggest luxuries is having the house cleaned for you, owning a robo vac will make your dreams come true. It has been quite the luxury having it to help keep the house clean for this toddler mama. The closest thing to having the house professionally cleaned for me. And way more cost-efficient!
